During the 1950’s The News Reporter and the Tabor City Tribune took a bold step in ending the reign of terror that the Ku Klux Klan had on the citizens of Columbus County. There efforts not only gave each individual in this county their freedom back, but also brought the two newspapers nationwide recognition and a Pulitzer prize for their work. A Grant from the NC Arts Council made it possible for Whiteville High School to bring in guest artist EBZB Productions and Mike Wiley Productions to work with Whiteville High School students and staff. Through a combined effort we have….. “Time For Tolerance”
